Do I have to be a County of Los Angeles Firefighter to join?
No. You do not have to be a County of Los Angeles Firefighter to join. Membership shall comprise of those who are affiliated with a public, private, or volunteer fire protection organization.
Active membership shall be determined by:
a. File an Application for Membership.
b. Pay current dues.
c. Be accepted by the Membership Committee and in its absence,
the Executive Board by majority vote.
d. Be at least 18 years of age.
Membership organizations shall be located in and around the
Los Angeles County boundary line and be such that they do not
conflict with the southwest jurisdictional region of the
International Association of Black Professional Fire Fighters.
If I were to join, how do I pay for the membership?
Active County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) personnel can pay their membership through a payroll deduction. All others, retired LACoFD and outside fire agency personnel, a membership representative will contact you after you complete the membership interest form sign up to discuss payment options.
What are the membership dues?
The dues for membership shall be $50.00 per month for sworn
members and $25.00 for non-sworn members monthly. Associate members (individuals not employed by the fire service), also as known as Supporters, may pay $5.00 per month or in exchange for monetary dues, provide a minimum of 12 hours of volunteer service per calendar year.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
